Lily Pond
The water lilies were asleep.
The sun watched them from the sky. For a long time, he had dreamed of discovering what lay beneath those large green ellipses.
This was his chance.
He plunged into the water.
“Look!” one water lily suddenly said to its neighbor. “You’re turning fluorescent green!”
“So are you!”
The sun continued his descent and was soon dazzled by his own rays. The yellow and green revealed their brilliance in broad daylight.
He had never seen such a color.
He knew he would never forget it.
He quickly made his way through the water lilies before they all woke up.
But it was too late.
The pond had caught the sun red-handed.
